I knew immediately that photographing Peyton would be fantastic and unforgettable. After all, this rising senior at Discovery Canyon Campus has so much going for her. She's so much more than just her beautiful face. She is super smart and has plans to perhaps become a neurosurgeon someday! Top that with a tremendous heart for others, and you've got the makings of one unforgettable senior.
Yes, I knew this session would be memorable. I just didn't know how memorable! By the session's end, we had experienced an endlessly wandering pup, being locked out of the family mini van (by the same pup), and being feasted on by mosquitos (because we could not find refuge in the mini van). We even finished the evening off with Peyton diving head first through the back van window to unlock the van. I'm still kicking myself for not capturing THAT moment!
It was a most fantastic session, and I loved hanging out with Peyton and her mom.
Here are a few of our favorites from that session, along with a few words from Peyton herself.
In my free time I love to paint and draw. It's a great way for me to express myself and my thinking.
Friendly, dedicated, and creative.
California. I love the beach and the warm weather that comes along with it.
I'm so excited to be a senior because it feels like I'm growing up and opening up a world of so many new opportunities for me to explore.
I'm also very nervous (and a little bit excited) about all of the challenges I'm going to face this year and in college! It's a brand new experience with brand new people.
Adventurous and spontaneous. I love to try new things and just seem to go where life may take me.
That I have five siblings; two older sisters, and three younger brothers (2 of whom were adopted from China)!
When I finish school, I can see myself in the medical field. I think the brain is so fascinating and want to keep studying it by becoming either a Neurologist or a Neuroscientist.
Leave all of my friends behind as I moved from state to state since my dad is in the Air Force. We still keep in touch, but I miss them lots!
My big heart for people, and for helping. I volunteer with special needs/disabled children in my free time, both in and out of school. It's such a positive experience with all of the sweet kids I've met along the way!
Didn't I tell you this young lady was something else? Wow! Such a beautiful young lady, with such a great plan for her future, topped with a tremendous heart for others. I'm just thrilled to have her as one of my JLP Reps this year!
Peyton, I had a blast shooting these portraits with you. I am looking so forward to meeting your friends for our friendship session later this summer!
